[Contact VBC for more info](https://dvnde.share.hsforms.com/2ZuTx0BjeSn6mnW1pa4mHng) PURPOSE The Veteran Procurement Program (VPP) is a Veteran Business Community (VBC) initiative designed to increase meaningful access to Government / corporate supply chains and individual buying decisions for veteran-owned businesses. The VPP also includes small to medium businesses and referrals programs to support individual buying decisions for veteran-owned businesses. The program gives participating organisations a simple pathway to move from public commitment, to active supplier engagement, to recognised leadership in veteran procurement. DESIGN PRINCIPLES **Simple to join.** A short application, nominated contact and signed Memorandum of Understanding. **Progressive.** Organisations can start with a commitment and increase their activity over time. **Practical rather than policy-heavy.** Recognition is based on observable procurement activity and light-touch evidence. **Evidence-based.** VBC confirms that required activities have been demonstrated before awarding or renewing a recognition level. **Commercially relevant.** Veteran-owned suppliers must still meet normal requirements for capability, price, risk, quality and performance. **Outcome focused.** The goal is access to opportunity and increased procurement outcomes - not procurement for its own sake. Annual review of all business is required to ensure the business shareholding or control situation has not categorically changed. VBC uses ASIC extracts as the documentation for ownership / shareholding structures and director status. Corporate ownership nested (companies owning companies) require all shareholders to produce subordinate ASIC extracts to determine individual ownership.
